Pricing & the visit fee
How does your pricing work?
Every visit starts with a $99 Visit & Diagnostic. We come to you, diagnose the problem, and quote it from a published flat-rate menu before doing any work. If you approve the repair, the $99 is fully credited toward your bill, you only pay what the menu shows.
No hourly meters. No surprise fees. The full menu is on our pricing page.
What is the $99 visit fee?
The $99 covers our trip to you and a complete diagnosis. If you approve the repair, the full $99 is credited toward your bill, you only pay what the menu shows.
It's only kept if you decline a fixable repair, or if the device is truly unrepairable (in which case there's no service charge at all, just the $25 booking deposit).
Why do I have to pay a $25 deposit at booking?
The $25 deposit is collected when you book through Square and is applied to your service total, it's not an extra fee. It protects against no-shows and last-minute cancellations.
Cancellations more than 4 hours before the appointment are fully refunded. Cancellations under 4 hours, or no-shows, forfeit the deposit.
What if my device is unrepairable?
If we diagnose the device as truly unrepairable, the $99 service fee is waived, you pay $0 for the visit (the $25 booking deposit is retained). We'll explain why in plain language, walk you through replacement options, and offer recycling if you don't want the device back.
What if my job isn't on the menu?
Anything not on the menu is quoted in writing after the $99 Visit & Diagnostic, we never bill by the hour and we never start work without your written approval.
Examples: multi-PC home or office setups, mesh Wi-Fi installs, server/NAS setup, hardware-level laptop repair, and specialty data recovery.
How do parts pricing work?
Parts are billed at cost + 15%. Receipts are available on request. The manufacturer warranty passes through to you.
Our flat-rate menu prices are labor-only unless noted (e.g., RAM and SSD upgrades have an install price + parts at cost + 15%).
Service & scheduling
Where do you provide service?
We serve Loudoun County, Virginia, Ashburn, Leesburg, Sterling, South Riding, Brambleton, Lansdowne, Purcellville, Hamilton, and surrounding communities.
In June 2026 we're relocating to the Tampa, FL area (Carrollwood / 33624 and surrounding zips).
What are your hours?
We're available every day, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Bookings outside those hours aren't available. Service hours are intentionally constrained while we're operating part-time before the Florida launch.
How soon can you come out?
Same-day slots are often available if you book in the morning. The booking page on Square shows real availability, pick whatever time fits your day. Evenings (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM) every day.
How long does a typical visit take?
Most visits are 60–90 minutes total, diagnosis, repair, and verification together.
Smaller jobs like new computer setup are often 30–60 minutes. Larger work like OS reinstall with data backup can take up to 2 hours depending on data volume.
Do you offer remote support, or only in-person?
Our primary model is in-person, on-site visits. We also offer monthly plans (starting at $29/mo) that include unlimited remote support for ongoing care.
One-off remote-only requests can be quoted case-by-case if the issue is something we can confidently solve over a screen-share.
Platforms & equipment
Do you work on Macs as well as PCs?
Yes. Mac and PC are priced the same, one menu across platforms. Parts pass through at cost + 15% on both.
Do you work with small businesses?
Yes. Small offices (typically under 10 machines) use the same public menu. Larger setups, 3+ PCs at once, multiple monitors, networking, server/NAS, are quoted as a custom job after a planning visit.
We don't have a separate B2B rate sheet. The menu is the menu.
Do you keep my data or access my files?
No. We don't take devices off-site for normal repairs, we don't keep copies of your files, and we don't browse what we don't need to.
For data backup or transfer services we use your own external drive, and the backup stays with you. Hardware-level work that requires a cleanroom partner is explained in writing before anything leaves your home.
Trust & payment
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. House Call Computer Repair LLC is a registered Virginia LLC with general liability and professional liability coverage. Proof of coverage is available on request.
Do you offer a warranty?
30-day labor warranty on every repair. If the same issue comes back within 30 days, we return at no charge to make it right. Parts carry the manufacturer warranty.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, Venmo, Zelle, credit/debit card, or Square invoice with a tap-to-pay link.
Jobs over $300 require a 50% deposit before parts are ordered.
